LiveWired (web channel)
1997: While Design Director at WiredDigital, Erik Adigard, along with Gary Wolf, developed and designed LiveWired, a dynamically updated website that treated the desktop as an open communication space to continually stream content from Wired magazine and WiredNews.
This work led to the creation of the Wired Channel on Pointcast, to vivid screen-saver concepts and to other advanced Web channels.
Erik created a variety of interfaces and hundreds of screens showing photos, illustrations and charts. Various versions were exhibited or acquired by national museums.
livewired.com ran as “beta” 1.0, 2.0 and “LiveWired lite” in 1997 and 1998.
